The Award 

The Guiding Light Award is a special recognition of 911 heroes who act out of selfless exceptionalism. They perform at a high level, going to great lengths to support the PSAP and the surrounding community. Theirs is a spirit of giving, collaboration, and community. 

Nomination Criteria:

Nominees should be people who exemplify the following: 

  • Demonstrate the heart of a servant leader 

  • Support colleagues in the PSAP regardless of title or tenure 

  • Exhibit trustworthiness, caring, and reliability 

  • Carry with them positivity and optimism, even in the face of difficulty 

Any 911 emergency telecommunications professional is welcome to submit a nomination. Please describe how the nominee is a Guiding Light for the profession.

The deadline for nominations is March 1, 2025.

RECIPIENTS WILL RECEIVE:

  • All-expenses-paid trip to the Mayan Ranch in Bandera, TX, to attend the 911 Leadership Training Event (transportation included) 

  • Guiding Light Award pictured above, with name of the recipient 

  • Podcast interview with Within the Trenches and #iam911 founder, Ricardo Martinez 

  • $1,000.00 honorarium 

  • Commemorative certificate
